How our referral line works
A plain-language look at what happens when you call, who you end up talking to, and how this service is funded.
What KBHomeFix is
KBHomeFix is a call-referral and advertising service operated by Keybridge Web Solutions LLC. We run phone lines that homeowners can call when they need help around the house, from plumbing and heating to roofing, electrical work and TV mounting, and we forward each call to an independent service business that participates in our network and covers the caller's area.
We built the line for the moment when something is going wrong at home and you'd rather talk to someone than compare dozens of listings. One call gets you to a provider who can tell you whether they can help.
What happens when you call
- You dial our number. Our phone system receives the call. Depending on the time and setup, you may hear a short recorded greeting or a brief question about the service you need.
- We identify the right area. The system uses information such as your area code, the number you called, or the ZIP code you enter to work out where you are.
- Your call is forwarded. We route you to a participating provider that serves that area and handles that kind of job. From that point, you're speaking directly with the provider.
- You and the provider decide the rest. Scheduling, pricing, diagnostics and any agreement are between you and the provider.
How we are paid
Calling our line is free for you. Participating providers, or the call networks and marketing companies that work with them, pay us a fee when we deliver a qualified phone call. That fee does not get added to your bill by us, and we don't receive a share of the price of any repair.
Because we are paid for connecting calls, we have a financial relationship with the businesses you reach through our number. You can read more on our Advertising Disclosure page.
What we don't do
- We don't perform plumbing, HVAC, electrical, roofing or any other repair or installation work.
- We don't employ, supervise or dispatch technicians.
- We don't set prices, give estimates or guarantee arrival times.
- We don't verify providers' licenses, insurance or credentials, and we don't guarantee the quality of any provider's work.
How to protect yourself
Treat the provider you're connected with the way you'd treat any contractor you found on your own:
- Ask whether the provider is licensed for the work, get the license number, and check it with your state or local licensing agency.
- Ask whether the provider carries liability insurance.
- Ask about trip or diagnostic fees and after-hours rates before the visit.
- Get a written estimate before work starts, and read any contract before you sign.
- Ask what warranty covers the parts and labor.
Call recording
Calls placed through our line may be recorded and monitored. We use recordings to confirm that calls were connected correctly, to resolve billing questions with providers, and to improve service. See our Privacy Policy for how call data is handled and how to request deletion.
