What you can call about

Common TV and wall mounting problems

Describe what's happening when you're connected. The provider will tell you whether it's something they handle and what the next step is.

TV wall mounting

Fixed, tilting and full-motion mounts for most screen sizes.

Wire concealment

In-wall power and cable kits, or paintable surface raceways that hide cords.

Above-fireplace mounting

Mounting on brick, stone and over mantels, including pull-down mounts.

Soundbars and speakers

Mounting soundbars under the TV and placing surround speakers.

Shelves and mirrors

Floating shelves, heavy mirrors, artwork and gallery walls.

Other wall hardware

Curtain rods, blinds, wall-mounted storage and baby gates.

While you wait

Get ready for the appointment

  1. Look up your TV's screen size, weight and VESA pattern (on the back of the TV or in the manual) and share them when you call.
  2. Choose the wall and approximate height ahead of time. Screen center near seated eye level is a common guide.
  3. Know what the wall is made of if you can: drywall, plaster, brick or stone.
  4. Ask whether the provider supplies the mount or whether you should buy one first.
Protect yourself

Choosing a provider with confidence

Ask about insurance

Make sure the provider carries liability insurance in case the wall, TV or furniture is damaged.

New outlets are electrical work

Adding an outlet behind the TV is electrical work, which may require a licensed electrician where you live.

Clarify what's included

Ask whether the price covers the mount, wire hiding and hardware, and what each additional TV costs.

Check weight ratings

The mount and anchors should be rated above the weight of your TV, especially for full-motion arms.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Who will I be speaking with?

Your call is routed to an independent TV and wall mounting provider that participates in our network and serves your area. KBHomeFix doesn't employ technicians or perform any work.

Does it cost anything to call?

No. Calling our referral line is free. Participating providers, or the call networks that represent them, pay us a marketing fee for connected calls. Any charge for work, diagnostics or visits comes from the provider, so ask about pricing first.

Can a TV be mounted on drywall?

Yes, when the mount is fastened into wall studs or uses hardware rated for the load. A pro will locate studs and pick the right anchors.

Is mounting above a fireplace a good idea?

It can be, but heat and viewing angle matter. Check your TV maker's guidance and ask about a pull-down mount.

Can all the cables be hidden?

Usually, either inside the wall with a code-compliant kit or with a paintable raceway on the wall surface.
